Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the New Testament:

  Al-Qur'an Chapter 61 Verse 6:

"And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said, 'O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me and giving glad tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed.' But when he came to them with clear signs, they said, 'This is evident sorcery!' "

All the prophecies mentioned in the Old Testament regarding Muhammad (pbuh) besides applying to the Jews also hold good for the Christians.

Gospel of John chapter 14 verse 16:

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever."

Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 7:

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you".

"Ahmed" or "Muhammad" meaning "the one who praises" or "the praised one" is almost the translation of the Greek word Periclytos. In the Gospel of John 14:16, 15:26, and 16:7. The word 'Comforter' is used in the English  translation for the Greek word Paracletos which means advocate or a kind friend rather than a comforter.

Paracletos is the warped reading for Periclytos. Jesus (pbuh) actually prophesised Ahmed by name. Even the Greek word Paraclete refers to the Prophet (pbuh) who is a mercy for all creatures.

Some Christians say that the Comforter mentioned in these prophecies refers to the Holy Sprit. They fail to realize that the prophecy clearly says that only if Jesus (pbuh) departs will the Comforter come. The Bible states that the Holy Spirit was already present on earth before and during the time of Jesus (pbuh), in the womb of Elizabeth, << Luke 1:41 >>and  again when Jesus (pbuh) was being baptised, etc. Hence this prophecy refers to none other than Prophet  Muhammad (pbuh).

Gospel of John chapter 15 verse 26:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which  proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."

Gospel of John chapter 16 verse 12-14:

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is  come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me".

Jesus said. He shall glorify me", He shall Testify me".

Mohammad (PBUH) is the only one after Jesus who Testifies and Glorifies Jesus (PBUH) as exactly as Jesus (PBUH) prophesized.

the Paraclete will be "with you forever", there simply is no eternal person existing from the time of disciples of Jesus who testifies Jesus and teaching God's commands

However, Muhammad, being the Paraclete, immortalize his teachings through the unchanged Quran now available to the masses following the teachings of past prophets and Jesus as well in line with the verse,"with you forever". This is in contrast to what Christians had been taught by Paul in the New Testament to forsake the teachings of past prophets like Moses. Hence, Muhammad, a Paraclete, had been sent to return believers to the teachings of Moses and other past prophets.

As a young man and a merchant, prophet Muhammad (PBUH)  was known to be trustworthy, honest and truthful. Meccans called him al-Amin (Arabic for "the trustworthy one"). the "spirit of truth" mentioned in John 14:16-17 is prophet Muhammad (PBUH) al-Amin, the truthful and trustworthy one, and the message Muhammad brought, the Quran, came direct and unaltered from God.

In addition to that, in John 16:12-14: "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me"

This supports Muslim's argumant as God says in Quran, that Muhammed enjoins only which is inspired into him from God.

Quran 10:15 --"And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them, they who look not for the meeting with Us say: Bring a Lecture other than this, or change it. Say (O Muhammad): It is not for me to change it of my accord. I only follow that which is inspired in me. Lo! if I disobey my Lord I fear the retribution of an awful Day."

For this reason, when we read the Gospel of Barnabas, we find that when the Jews ask Jesus (pbuh) whether he is "the messiah" he replies that he is not "the messiah" that they are expecting.

This is because he understood their question. They were not asking him for his title, rather, they wanted to know whether he was the one who would finally fulfill all of their prophesies of leadership, power, and grandeur that they had been waiting for so many centuries.

For this reason, he told them that he was not "the messiah", but that "the Messiah" they were waiting for would not come until later. He was referring to the SECOND messiah in their prophesies. (The Jews had expectations of three prophecies to be fulfilled)

In the Bible we read of the test that the Jews applied to Jesus (pbuh) in order to ascertain his truthfulness. The Jews had a prophecy that required Elias to come before Jesus (pbuh): "Elias verily cometh first"
(Mark 9:12).

They had not seen Elias yet so there was still doubt as to Jesus (PBUH) being the Messiah. Jesus, however, responded to them that Elias had already come but that they did not recognize him.

In Matthew 17:12-13 we read:

"But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not...Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist".

John, however DENIES the claims of Jesus (pbuh). This is one of the Christian's "dark sayings of Jesus" that their scholars have yet to reconcile and we will leave this matter for them to work out among themselves.

In John 1:19-21 we read

"And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who art thou?.And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the christ.

And they asked him, What then? ART THOU ELIAS? And he saith, I am not. ART THOU THAT PROPHET? And he answered, No".

We notice that there are three distinct prophecies here:

• Elias,
• Messiah
• That prophet.

The Jews were not waiting for two prophecies, but three.

This can be further clarified by reading John 1:25:

"And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be:

a) Not the Christ,
b) nor Elias,
c) neither that Prophet?"

John answered them

"I baptize with water, but among you stand one you do not know,
1: 26

[g]Even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie."[/g] 1: 27.

"That prophet" could not be Jesus (pbuh), because that would make the third question in both verses redundant; nor can we believe that "that prophet" is the Holy Ghost; did John look like a ghost? Further, we must remember that "That prophet" can not apply to any prophet before the time of Jesus (pbuh) because at the time of Jesus (pbuh) the Jews were still waiting for all three.

Notice how when we let the Bible speak for itself, without forcing the holy spirit or other supernatural meanings on it in the commentary, or forcing three questions to be only two, how clear these verses become.

It is quite obvious from the above verses that the followers of Jesus (pbuh) recognized that the Jews were waiting for three prophesies to be fulfilled.

The Bible, to one degree or another, confirms that both the first and second prophesies were fulfilled. However, it provides no logical explanation for the third prophesy.
John 16:5-16

[g]7But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

12"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.[/g]

[g]Jesus (PBUH) will come again[/g]

[g] 16"In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me."[/g]
